What's wrong?

If your silkworms are dying instead of spinning cocoons, check some of these trouble-shooting tips.

1.  Do not disturb the silkworms once they start to spin.  If their framework for the cocoon is disturbed, then they will not make a cocoon.  They will turn brown, then black, and die.

2.  Do not overcrowd the silkworms.  If  they are too close together, they can't feed efficiently.  Try to keep no more than about 30 on a large cake platter.

3.  Remove old leaves and poop before mold starts to form.
